Does anyone have ideas about a gay beach or garden wedding on the east coast? I need a gay wedding planner!? my partner wants to have our commitment ceremony in Georgia.I know it will not be legal. we don't care! we want a fun gay wedding celebration with family and friends! Possibly a gay beach wedding? we were thinking about atlanta or Savannah.
Does anyone know of a great gay friendly wedding planner in Georgia? there does not seem to be alot of info on gay savannah or gay georgia weddings. thanks!!! |
Hi! congrats! My partner and i had our commitment ceremony at a great beach house on tybee island. Tybee is the Savannah Beach. Savannah is very gay friendly! we loved it there! the city is beautiful, the restaurants are good and the people very friendly. not a bunch of redneck bubbas that hate the gays :)
we found a great wedding planner- she is not gay but definitely thinks gay- which is more important.everything was gorgeous! the food was to die for! the only gay wedding planner in savannah or georgia that we could find. thank god she was terrific!
We had a non traditional gay commitment ceremony at sunset at the beach house and then an horderves (sp?) buffet.
we stayed at the house and our friends stayed in beach houses on the island
.Our wedding planner had a gay friend that owns a vacation rental company and the trolley service on the island and another gay friend that has two restaurants on the island, so we were given a full service gay event. My advice is definitely find someone gay friendly.only invite friends who will enjoy themselves- no bitchin on the big day :). don't stress out!!
go to club one for your bachelor party!!
Good luck! |
Have you ever met a male wedding planner that was not gay? No offense to my gay/lesbian readers. The question was more of like, most of the times you see wedding planners as women or as gay, but not a straight male. If so how are they received as opposed to the other two? |
No, I haven't. But I've met plenty of men in the wedding industry who weren't planners who were straight... and a lot of vendor services extend into planning (ie, catering).
I think the only problem a straight male wedding planner may run into is a question of taste, and whether his potential clients feel confident in trusting his. Without that "feminine" side, a lot of brides may feel like the male wedding planner doesn't really understand what they want... and let's face it, the bride is more likely to call the shots than the groom. But some straight men have excellent taste and are versed in etiquette. It's not common, but they do exist. |
Anyone Know where to find a gay wedding planner in St. Joseph, MO? Me and my girlfriend are getting married in 2011 and we need a wedding planner (that does GAY MARRIAGES). I know there is some, so please dont leave a message saying there isn't. If u do know, then please leave the name and number of the person. Thank you for your help! |
| but Missouri doesn't do gay marriages? |
Why are most wedding planners gay? Since weddings are the ultimate form of hetero bonding, why is that most wedding planners, florists, organists, etc. are gay? I am discounting the recent rampant spread of gay marriage. Obviously, that's a huge increase in the gay wedding planner business. |
| I guess because they are expressive and creative which are main ingredients of a wedding planner. :) |
How to plan a gay wedding? :D? Is there such a thing as a gay wedding planner? What are the essentials of a gay wedding? Is a gay wedding wrong?
What do I absolutely HAVE to have? And what can I bend a bit? :P |
Are you saying you want the wedding planner to be gay, too? I'd say the essentials of a gay wedding are the same as a regular wedding - you want to have a wedding for the same reasons as a straight couple, right? I don't think a gay wedding is wrong - just because a girl doesn't find a boy to share the day with doesn't mean she should be deprived of such a special day!
As far as finding a wedding planner, just make sure the person isn't a total d-bag when it comes to working with a gay couple. Many people are open to the idea, but many aren't, so make sure you're working with the right person. As far as what you HAVE to have, well, not all couples have the same things at their weddings. If you have any cultural or religious traditions you'd like to include, go for it, it's your day! Personally I'm not including many traditions (no cake, no wedding party, no walking down the aisle, etc.) but that's how I want it. However you want to make the day is how it should be done. Gay or straight, it's about what the couple wants and how they want to celebrate, not how weddings are 'supposed' to be.
Plus, weddings vary so much from culture to culture and even in different regions, so whatever you want is what you should get.

When you wake up in the morning, do you think about being a wedding planner? Do you enjoy doing it? Do you think you're good at doing the job?
If you answered yes to any one of these, then yes, do it!.
Do a job because you want to not because of what others may think. |
Lesbian Wedding Planner with a Client Against Gay Marriage? So I am a wedding planner and I have been working with a bride for a couple months though her wedding isn't for a year from now. I just found out from her online profile that she voted against gay marriage in the past California election. Being a lesbian and in the process of planning my own wedding, this really bothers me. However, I also find this as an opportunity to educate someone on gay rights. I'm not sure what to do. Should I say anything? Any advice? She is a really sweet girl and I am super excited to plan this wedding. It sounds so much fun but I am really offended by her views. |
stay professional.
shes a client, if she becomes a friend.
then talk to her about it, don't preach. |
If you were a wedding planner, would you plan a gay couple's wedding? Why or Why not? If you did, what would your house of Worship say?
If you didn't, what would your house of worship say then? |
I am going to tell you the truth
I helped my friend plan his civil ceremony to his boyfriend
and I am good at it too.
It's sort of embarrassing, this talent I never knew I had. I would never plan a marriage in my synagogue because I believe the synagogue is a place where women get married to men and vice-versa.
(And you know what? I had fun.) |
